Wednesday, August 8 Summer Fund Drive

Today, Wednesday, is Day Two of the KPFK Summer Fund Drive, and I'll be on LIVE for a full hour pitching with special guests, readings and nifty premiums.  Premia?  Please tune in on the radio or Internet and do join me via the telephone, and support the station and Bibliocracy with a pledge.  I'll be offering the Gore Vidal CD collection as a basic $50 thank you gift, and a cornucopia of terrific books for a larger pledge.  Best of all, I'll chat with Hector Tobar, novelist and journalist, about his The Barbarian Nurseries and work at the Los Angeles Times.  And with editor of PEN's terrific new journal The Rattling Wall, Michelle Meyering.  Thanks to these two local literary luminaries for coming in to talk books, book shows, community and community radio. Please listen and call tonight 8 - 9 PM.  You know the phone number (818) 985-5735.  If okay with you, dear Listener-Supporter, I'll say thanks on the air.  If you appreciate and value Pacifica Radio and the station's commitment to the literary arts, please show it.  Thanks!
