Wednesday, April 7 - Stephanie Brown/Lit Orange

Today at 2:30 PM on Bibliocracy my guest is acclaimed poet Stephanie Brown, author of two volumes, Allegory of the Supermarket and, most recently, Domestic Interior. Join me to celebrate her work as a remarkable American poet who just happens to live in Orange County, and to help promote this weekend's now annual literary celebration of said county, Literary Orange, which she is organizing. This writer is a variety of full-time cultural worker --- in her day job Stephanie Brown works as a librarian for the county of Orange. Among other publications, Brown has published in American Poetry Review, and won the magazine's Jessica Nobel-Maxwell Award. Her work has appeared in The Best American Poetry and recent anthologies including Great American Prose Poems: From Poe to the Present and The Grand Permission: Essays on Poetry and Motherhood. She’s taught creative writing at UC Irvine and the University of Redlands and received an NEA Fellowship in Poetry in 2001. And Stephanie Brown has indeed worked as a public librarian since 1989, currently a Senior Branch Manager for the Orange County Public Library system.
